This is the EVE Online Shipchart, it is a complete scale compilation of every unique ship hull in the game from a 2D perspective, complete with NPC ships, T3 Cruisers and nametags/dimensions.
There are two versions of the chart, a complete version and a sub-capital version at a bigger scale with no capital ships.

Finally got around to updating this, probably gonna be the last time, so enjoy.

And a few FAQ's:
Quote:
Q: Are these dimensions acurate?
A: I took the dimensions directly from the in-game 3D models, so they are as acurate as CCP's models are.

Q: But my Rifter doesn't look that small compared to a Megathron.
A: Not from your perspective, but it is. The distances between ships in game combined with the positioning of the camera and perspective of the camera result in your ship looking bigger in comparison to other ships. If you undock right next to another ship you can see the true size difference, so yes your Rifter really is tiny compared to a Megathron.

Q: But the preview window in-game says the ships are a different size.
A: The preview window is broken (another example of unfinished CCP features). The preview window says that the Brutix is 532m, but the Megathron is only 500m, obvious proof that it is broken and the dimensions listed there should be taken with a grain of salt.

Q: How did you make this?
A: I exported all the in-game ship models and textures with TriExporter. I then reassembled the models and textures in Cinema 4D and rendered them. Lastly I reassembled the renders in Photoshop and added the ship names and dimensions and other formatting.

Q: How long did it take?
A: I would say all up including all the updates and the sub-capital version, somewhere in excess of 80+ hours. In terms of isk worth (going by 25mil isk per hour) thats worth around 2 billion isk.

Q: Why don't you add the T2 ships to this chart?
A: It would take far too much time and would probably need to be a whole second chart in itself, so I don't really see the benefit of it and won't be making one. If someone else wants to make a T2 chart then go for it.

Q: What about faction ships like the Bhaalgorn or Vindicator?
A: They're just repaints of existing ships, not unique hulls so I don't see the point in adding them and therefore are not included.

Q: Can you please make it even bigger?
A: No, my computer struggles with it as it is, hence why I made the sub-capital chart (which results in the ships being about 3x bigger) so you can see more detail on the smaller ships.

Q: Am I allowed to get this printed as a poster?
A: Yes you are. I recommend using the PSD version as it is full quality and has all text in seperate font layers. Just for reference for the main chart I used the font Arial Narrow in Bold. For the sub-capital chart I used Arial in Bold.

Q: Are you still playing EVE?
A: No, if you want to contact me then send me an email at eveshipchart@gmail.com (or PM me here)

The battlecruisers look a lot smaller than I expected.

I think its the real life scale (as detailed in the files?).

Ingame a frig is about 1/3 - 1/2 the size of a cruiser, more or less. I wish that scale was applied to ingame though, along with the appropriate camera perspective to truly experience it. Twisted Evil

If they made it to scale it would present significant problems. One is that from the camera perspective of a frigate pilot next to one a titan would be two or three pixels filling their screen which is to say terrible to look at. Increasing the resolution on the model causes more problems than it solves. The other and more pressing issue is that a titan is quite a few kilometers long meaning it would have a horrendous casualty bubble and quite possibly exist in two grids at once creating all sorts of computational issues.

meh someday it will probably be possible. If they did that, oh god would battles be so much more epic.

Sometimes you need to do things that are impractical because they are awsome. This is one of those things that CCP needs to do.

With that they need targettable subsystems and more capital only weaponry.

I am planning to make a sub-capital version of the chart too, with all the pirate/faction ships on it at a larger scale. But thats still coming soon™

As always any donations would be appreciated.

Since all the ORE gear is technically Gallente, I'd assume that's the place to put them.

Anyhow, it looks good. Smile You might want to consider color-coded backgrounds like the RMR edition though.
